What the piece is actually made of.

Two facts decide everything else about a piece here: the metal underneath, and the stone that is set into it. Both are stated on every product page, because a page that hides them is not much use to a buyer.

The metal

Solid sterling silver, not a base-metal core.

S925 means 92.5% silver. It is a precious metal in its own right, which is why a sterling silver piece carries weight and takes a polish differently from brass or a zinc alloy. Where a piece is gold plated, that plating is applied over the sterling silver — the core does not change.

The stone

Moissanite is grown, then cut like any other stone.

Lab-created moissanite is produced in a laboratory rather than mined. It is a hard stone with a high refractive index, which is why these pieces throw colour in low light where a diamond would look flat. Pieces that set no stone at all say so on their own page.

What we use

Three facts, stated plainly.

Sterling silver, not plated base metal
The body of every piece is solid S925 sterling silver — 92.5% silver. Plating, where a piece has it, sits on top of that core rather than replacing it.
Lab-created moissanite
The stones are grown in a laboratory rather than mined. Moissanite has a different refractive index from diamond, which is why the pieces throw more colour in low light.
Three finishes
Polished silver, 14k gold plated and 18k gold plated. The finish is stated on every product page, and it comes from the product data rather than the page layout.

Ask about a piece
