Service

Looking after the piece after it arrives.

Silver and plated finishes age โ€” that is normal, and it is reversible. These are the three habits that keep a piece looking the way it did in the box.

01

Wear it often

Sterling silver and plated finishes are happiest when worn. Skin oils slow tarnishing, and a piece kept in a drawer oxidises faster than one in rotation.

02

Keep it dry

Take pieces off before swimming, showering and cleaning. Perfume, sunscreen, chlorine and household cleaners are the usual causes of dull plating.

03

Store it apart

Keep each piece in its own pouch or compartment. Sterling silver is soft, and pieces that rub together pick up fine scratches.

Care notes

What to do, and what not to.

  • Polish with a dry, soft cloth โ€” a microfibre or the cloth supplied in the box.
  • For a plated finish, avoid abrasive polishes and ultrasonic cleaners, which cut through the plating.
  • Do not use silver dip on pieces set with stones.
  • If a piece needs re-polishing or re-plating, send an inquiry and we will quote the work.

Repairs and re-plating

Re-polishing and re-plating are quoted per piece.

Send the SKU and a photo of the piece. We will tell you what can be done, what it costs, and where to send it. Work is quoted before anything is carried out.
